Book on John Nicholson

We are delighted to see the publication by the British Institute of Organ Studies of James Berrow’s book on the life and work of our founder John Nicholson (1815–1895).  This represents a huge research effort over many years.  The book puts John Nicholson in the context of his many organ building relatives, and describes in detail his life, work and career in Worcester, including a gazetteer of all his known instruments.  The story is brought up to date too with a summary of the firm’s history to date.

The hardback book has 464 pages and is available from the BIOS webstore at www.bios.org.uk/store/products_detail.php?ProductID=85.  Including p&p, the cost is £29.20 for UK delivery, £37 for Europe delivery and £50 for worldwide delivery.

We are immensely grateful to James Berrow for all he has done to unearth the exciting story of these early days.
